Horrific, I feel sick reading about it, people screaming for help, hanging their children out of the window :s_cry horrible. Our heroic fire fighters doing their best. :s_cry

It's absolutely horrendous :s_cry
Unbelievable they used flammable materials in refurbishment, heads should roll for this!
Parent-blaming is all-too-common these days, and usually the point is to make other parents feel better about their own parenting skills

I'm just appalled at the sheer negligence of a council who are the first to close premises down when health and safety is breached.
They're looking at manslaughter charges at the very least surely!

They say there could be 100 dead. Heart breaking stories :s_cry I think a lot of people will need help coming to terms with what they saw happening.

well, if the owners of the tower listened the complaints of the residents of the tower, probably that tragedy could have been avoided, but it seems that the tower doesn´t had fire or smoking detectors, also hoses in the walls of the tower near the apartments which could have helped extinguished the fire, also the firemen who were near the tower when the fire was burning had the wrong behaviour of trying to keep the residents of the tower inside their apartments instead of helping them to reach the stairs that would take them far from the tower.

the local council that owned the building should have installed those safety measures when he received a warning from the residents of the tower, but he showed no concern about those safety measures. another thing: if a building have no safety measures, how it is allowed to have residents in it. surely that a committee to check thoroughly those safety measures should have been there every month to check those safety measures. if a building don´t have those measures, it should not be granted the license to have residents in it.

Exactly Pedro.

A Public Inquiry is now to be held...................a fat lot of good that will be to those poor families affected by this disaster!!!! BUT....hopefully should mean all high rises are checked and new safety regs installed no matter the cost to the buildings owners or councils.
