I’ve always thought that age progression produced as Madeleine aged 9 looked older than a 9 yrs old girl.

I wish Operation Grange would do an updated image......Mind you it’s all guesswork :s_sad

EXPRESSO PT

Post by sal » Fri May 03, 2019 11:58 am

expresso pt

https://expresso.pt/sociedade/2019-05-0 ... #gs.8xdffr

The Judiciary Police is following an information received in the United Kingdom by Scotland Yard and sent recently to Portugal in the case of Madeleine McCann, the Expresso learned from a judicial source.

According to the same source, this is a complaint made about a foreigner who was in Portugal in May 2007, the date of the disappearance of the English girl from the tourist complex of Luz beach in the Algarve.

The suspect is not unknown to the Portuguese police. At the time, the Judiciary even investigated him for suspicions of involvement in pedophilia cases but now in the light of this information coming from London investigators are deepening the case. "This is a line of research that remains open, just like other lines," explains the same source.

Expresso knows that PJ has verified all the information it receives from abroad since it is the only criminal police body with jurisdiction to investigate the case in national territory. The inspectors have also heard several witnesses.

In the meantime, Netflix debuted an eight-episode documentary series on case-study in March. In the last episode is referred as one of the suspects of the case a sexual predator who would be making victims in the Algarve when Madeleine McCann disappeared.

According to statements by Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who from a certain point headed Operation Grange, the investigation of the case set up by the British authorities, this aggressor "had dark skin, tanned, short, black and careless hair", being who spoke to the children "mainly in English".

From what the girls told their parents later, the man entered the room with a kind of medical mask. The child will have said, "Are you, Papa?" He spoke English and said 'yes,' but with a foreign accent. "

Expresso confronted Operation Grange's team in London and the Judiciary Police in Portugal about these clues explored in the documentary, but in both cases the answer was that it was not appropriate to provide any information at this time.

This Friday, the "Correio da Manhã" noticia that the Public Ministry confirms that the investigation to the case counts " with lines of active investigation ".

The English girl was reported missing on the night of May 3, 2007 from an apartment on Luz Beach where she was on vacation with her parents and two siblings. If you are alive you will be 15 years old today.

The parents came to be constituted defendants at the beginning of the case but the lines of investigation followed other directions. Theses of kidnapping or an assault that went wrong appear as likely among PJ and Scotland Yard investigators.

In the United Kingdom, Operation Grange, which started in 2013, has already had an expenditure of £ 11,75 million (about 13,6 million euro). According to The Telegraph newspaper, in November the Home Office secured an additional £ 150,000 to British researchers.

Portuguese Judiciary Police follows new abduction leads

Ongoing Operation

PJ follows new abduction leads
CM Investigation - Maddie process reopened 12 years later
⇛ More inspectors search for the suspect that may have taken the child
⇛ Over 13 million euros spend so far in the search for the girl

Judiciary follows new abduction lead in the Maddie case

Team reinforced → More inspectors are proceeding with the investigation to the new suspect of having taken the child of the village of Praia da Luz, exactly 12 years ago
Accidental Crime → Parents were constituted as arguidos. The case was then shelved.

by Tânia Laranjo/Débora Carvalho

A new lead and a new suspect - that the Judiciary Police tries to keep in absolute secrecy - have lead to the reintroduction of more means to investigate the whereabouts of the English child, who disappeared exactly 12 years ago, from a resort in Praia da Luz , Lagos. The process, which was sent to the PJ of Porto to be re-evaluated, now counts with the collaboration of a even wider team that still tries to clarify the mystery. This scenario would remove the parents from the equation - that had been constituted as arguidos earlier at the beginning of the case.

The Public Prosecutor's Office also admits that these new investigative lines are strong and can lead to clarification of the process. A 12-year investigation marked by breakthroughs and setbacks. Maddie disappeared in the village where she was staying, from the bedroom where she was with her twin brothers of 18 months.

The alert was given at 10:00 pm by the mother and the Judiciary Police even admitted a scenario of accidental crime. Kate and Gerry Mccann were constituted as arguidos (suspects), the case was later shelved, but later on data emerged indicating the possibility that the child had been abducted.

Now and after a few years without any police investigations being publicly known, the Judiciary is back on the case and admits to be closer to knowing what happened to Madeleine Mccann. Even in an abduction scenario, the authorities have many doubts that the child, that would be 15 years-old today, is still alive.

Maddie's process continues at the DCIAP (Central Department for Investigation and Penal Action) of Portimão

The Public Prosecutor's Office confirms “active lines of investigation”

■ The CM (Correio da Manhã) asked to consult the process and this was granted at first. However, the magistrate has made a new dispatch, in which he does not authorize, since the investigation is "still with active lines of investigation" and its disclosure would be prejudicial.

MORE THAN 12 THOUSAND PAGES

The process has more than 12 thousand pages and 17 volumes and annexes. During the thirteen months of investigation, the Judiciary Police conducted more than two thousand investigative proceedings, heard over 700 people, made close to 500 searches in Praia da Luz and identified more than two dozen suspects.

'CM INVESTIGATION' reveals tonight, in exclusive, new leads of Maddie's abduction. 12 years later, the PJ reinforced team in the last-ditch attempt in the hope of finding a child that would be 15 years-old today.

Incomprehensible.

Missing Maddie investigation has new suspect ‘in the frame’
Missing Maddie investigation has new suspect ‘in the frame’
Friday May 3 has seen the habitual flurry of news stories on missing Madeleine McCann – but nothing has been more ‘sensational’ than the report in a Portuguese tabloid newspaper claiming PJ police have a new suspect in the frame.

Correio da Manhã suggests there is suddenly a whole new set of clues which has seen manpower beefed as the PJ works in “absolute secrecy”.

This is the 12th anniversary of the most baffling missing persons case of modern times – and by coincidence the Resident was informed last week by a independent source investigating the mystery that he had passed new information to lead Portuguese investigator, Drª Helena Monteiro, working out of the PJ headquarters in Porto.

Our source told us that he had spoken on the telephone from Holland with Monteiro for over 40 minutes.

Whether his information may have tipped the balance is not clear, but the book he brought out with his findings has now been uploaded online (click here).

Says CM, the new theory does not focus on any involvement by Maddie’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann who have endured endless criticism over social media since their daughter’s disappearance from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz exactly 12 years ago.

“The Public Ministry admits these new lines of investigation are strong and could lead to clearing up the case altogether”, says the paper.

However, “even within the kidnap scenario” now being probed “authorities are very doubtful” that Madeleine – who would be 15 now, close to her 16th birthday – “is still alive”.

UK papers have picked up CM’s exclusive which comes hot-on-the-heels of a Netflix documentary aired last month.

Elsewhere, other media sources have said that police in the UK investigating the case are due to request another tranche of funding.

So far in England, the Maddie investigation (Operation Grange) is understood to have cost almost £12 million.

In Portugal it is much more difficult to come up with a total for funds spent as detectives tasked with investigating have a block budget that caters for other missing persons cases at the same time.

The Maddie case was reopened in Portugal two years after Grange’s inception in 2011.

PJ confirms that the investigation into the Maddie case is "still open"
by Joana Morais 14 mins ago
The clarification of the Judiciary Police comes as a reaction after news were "made public" this Friday and following the "numerous requests" that the authorities are receiving.

The Judiciary Police confirms that the disappearance of Maddie McCann is still an open case.

"Given the news that were made public today [Friday] and the numerous requests for clarification on the subject," the Judiciary Police informs that "the investigation into the disappearance of an English child, that took place in Praia da Luz in 2007, remains open, within the scope of an investigation supervised by the Public Prosecutor of Portimão".

Moreover, the PJ informs, that this investigation "has been developed in articulation with international authorities, obeying the rules of judicial and police cooperation, which the circumstances of the situation warrant."

The statement comes after the publication, this Friday, in the newspaper Correio da Manhã of a news report that the Judiciary Police is following new leads related to the abduction of Maddie.

The newspaper also reveals that the PJ inspectors are following a new lead that involves a new suspect, but that the goal is to try to keep the operation in complete secrecy.

Madeleine McCann disappeared from a tourist complex on Praia da Luz in Lagos, Algarve, precisely 12 years ago. She was only three years-old, she would have been four years-old a few days later, on May 12.

Investigation into the disappearance of Maddie with "active research lines"

The investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, which occurred exactly 12 years ago on Praia da Luz in the Algarve, remains open and with "active lines of research". The information is from the Attorney General's Office (PGR) and was requested by the PUBLIC after Correio da Manhã reported this Friday: "PJ follows new tracks of abduction."

The PJ has also responded by stating in a note that "research has been developed in liaison with international authorities, following the rules of judicial and police cooperation, which the circumstances of the situation justify."

In the article in Cofina's diary, which does not provide details of the new suspicions, it is explained that the Correio da Manhã asked to consult the process, which was granted at first. However, in a second moment, the titular magistrate made a new order, in which he does not authorize the consultation, justifying that the investigation counts "still with lines of investigation active" and that its disclosure would be prejudicial.

C d M

The 'Investigação CM ' had exclusive access to the photos that the Judicial Police took the first moment they entered the room of the Ocean Club, precisely where Maddie disappeared in the Algarve. There are new clues about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann that the Judicial Police considers credible. The PJ reinforced the team of researchers. If it is alive, the girl is 15 years old, the disappearance of worldwide repercussion is still shrouded in mystery.
. After 12 years of investigations, the Judiciary Police seems to have a new clue about what happened on May 3, 2007, at Praia da Luz, in the Algarve. The team of researchers was reinforced and the process, which was closed, was reopened. There are new lines of investigation, a new suspect and there is again the possibility of abduction. Portimão's Public Prosecutor's Office assumes that the knowledge of the new suspects may undermine the clarification of the case and prevent the child from knowing what happened. Long live or dead, the Judiciary wants to close this process. It was the second case in the Algarve where the answers were lacking.
In Maddie's case she never gave up. The lawsuit was filed, then reopened. It was public and now it's closed. It was then sent to Porto, to be analyzed by another team, which has now been reinforced with more means. PJ admits she can shed light on the mystery and prove what happened to Maddie. The thesis window of the room where Maddie was with the twin brothers is a key piece in the kidnapping thesis. A thesis dismantled by Gonçalo Amaral, the first inspector responsible for the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine Mccann, who always looked at the parents as guilty.

Portuguese police have boosted their Madeleine McCann squad after identifying a foreign p.a.e.dophile as a new suspect for her abduction, it is claimed.

Information about the new suspect had been passed on by Scotland Yard, according to media reports in Lisbon.

Portugal's Expresso news website claimed the man had already been investigated for alleged child s-e-x offences before Madeleine vanished from her family's rented holiday apartment on the Algarve coast 12 years ago.

The CmTv channel on Friday night also broadcast claims that police were investigating a new suspect and had increased the number of detectives involved in the case.

It also claimed there was more than one suspect.

It comes as Scotland Yard doubled its usual six-monthly bid for Home Office funding, asking for £300,000 to keep its own detectives working on the case for another whole year.

No, it doesn't. And I don't quite see how the request for a years' funding squares with reports from Portugal that a resolution to the investigation might be imminent.

Something doesn't, quite, tie together, there.
